Following a catered dinner of quiche, salad and soup, Bernard Fishman, Director of the Maine State Museum, will speak on ‘A Life in History.’ He will talk about his own life and experiences growing up in Manhattan, as an archaeologist in Egypt, founder of a Jewish Museum, and a director of five quite different museums over 30 years and in five different states. He will offer his observations and opinions about how thinking about history, preservation and the museum profession has changed in that time, how we try to connect to history today, and how his Jewish identity has influenced his own work and the way he approaches it.
YOU MUST RSVP FOR THIS EVENT IF YOU WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DINNER! Please call Julie in the office.
