Sophie Kaplan, daughter of Jennifer and Scott Kaplan, will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah on Shabbat Emor, Saturday May 3rd beginning at 9:30. All members and friends of Temple Shalom are invited and welcome to this celebration as Sophie chants the Maftir and haftarah, gives a d’var Torah – a teaching – about her portions of our scriptures, and assumes her role as a daughter of the commandments within our community.A kiddush luncheon in our social hall following the service will honor Sophie becoming a Bat Mitzvah.
